Open-lecture.net is a place to announce or find out about public lectures, seminars, debates, conferences and exhibitions going on in your area or subject field. Currently open-lecture only lists events in the UK.
Open-lecture.net is intended to promote active learning and academic collaboration; it is aimed at students, lecturers and anyone with an interest in learning or networking.
Open-lecture.net was created by me: Steve Cooke because I love public lectures and open seminars; it's funded out of my pocket and is independent of any organisation. The site is free to use and to register with and will remain so. Potential advertisers and sponsors must have a connection with learning and education. And since I've been asked several times - I haven't built this site with the intention of making a profit (though I wouldn't complain if it did make me some money in the future).
The site is hosted by: RedBlackAndGreen.net Internet Services: a small ethical service provider, and was developed in PHP and MySQL with the following OpenSource tools: Bluefish 1.0.5, The GIMP, gFTP and Firefox 1.5.
